'My Fat Friend' to close Dobama's season
Dobama's season finale will be "My Fat Friend," a tender comedy about an odd, but likable, assortment of people, which opens in the Coventry Road basement theater next Thursday at 8:30 p.m.
My Fat Friend is Vicky, a pretty but too plump bookstore owner, who dives into a diet and exercise program with the aid of her friends, an aspiring author and a savvy homosexual, in pursuit of an attractive young customer.
Ron Newell, the Dobama actor who was last seen befriending lizards in "Seascape" at the theater, is the director, and in the cast are Mary Ann Sheboy, Charles Goodwill, John Klein and Charles St. Clair. "Friend" (or "Fat") runs through April 24. For information, call 932-6838.
Charles St. Clair and John Klein have no trouble filling the fat suit
of their sometimes too fat friend in "My Fat Friend," opening at Dobama Thursday.
